My quest for world presidency

we intend to change the future and make it unchangeable!

Free bus travel? U got to fight for it!

Posted by roushdat on February 12, 2007

Oh the Mondays….People always in a rush after a weekend that rusted our muscles :p And the future president was still dreaming about his best friend when he was supposed to be already awoken and getting ready for the tough day ahead.

Normally, my weekdays are like this: up in the morning at 5:30 am, and ready to leave home at 6:30 am. But last night, i programmed the alarm for 5:25am, that is 5 more minutes so that I can get enough time for shaving ;) Every minute counts huh :p God knows ( maybe the devil also knows) what happened to me…I just remember waking up at around 4:30am, I was already dreaming before that, then I changed the alarm setting, putting it off, and resumed with my dreams ;) (were very nice dreams btw). 5:55 am, i was up…35minutes left to be ready….I had to skip the shaving, but I managed to be on time for the bus ;)

Hehe, free travel? Yeah sure :p No problem for that in the morning, the conductor was ok :p It was only on my way back home that I encountered some resistance ;)

Actually, after university, I went to shoprite to buy the birthday gift for my mum. Remember? The mixer? So I purchased the mixer, had to carry it without any bag, “protecting the environment” policy, they won’t give me any bag :S I waited and waited for 45 minutes before I could get a bus to my small village :( Now I understand why people are so frustrated in their everyday life…it surely include the bus travelling, or more precisely, bus-waiting stuff. Finally the bus was in sight, and of course, a group of people rushed to the entrance as if there was a cake distribution going on…that’s mauritius :p

No need to tell you, the ladies will find their way in between us, and end up in the front-lines at the bus entrance. I don’t know why, but they feel as if, it’s their right to be among the first to enter the bus…And some idiot guyz, will even encourage this practise by moving on the side and letting the ladies enter…Eh c’mon, we are in 2007, forget about the days when giving priority to women was considered an act of…I don’t get the word in english ( Galanterie). Women have asked for their rights, they want to be equal to man, so give them their rights, consider them equal to you guyz! No need to give them priority!

So I climbed up the old roaring bus and managed to get a seat with my big box in the hand…And here comes the conductor. I knew something was going to happen when I saw his face…I had some (accrochage verbal?) with him last year about the bus-pass i think. This time, quite sure of myself, I displayed my NTA bus pass…Hehe, he too was quite sure of himself that he gonna screw me and get me to pay for the ticket. He took the pass, look at me, and ask: Pane monter reduit sa!? bizin payer ( you didn’t enter the bus at Reduit, you’ve got to pay).

NO WAY! If today I pay him, next time I will have to pay again. I told him i won’t pay cause I’m still on my way in between home and university…He insisted…I told him that I had already contacted the NTA and the bus owner himself…But the conductor wouldn’t give up….He asked me to call again and I did so…I talked to his boss and gave the conductor my mobile to let him clear his mind…

I don’t know what his boss told him but he was still asking me to pay for the ticket…So I simply reply: Let’s go to the police station ;) aah…I got him there…He started telling me that he got a family to look after and that if I don’t pay , he may land up in trouble etc…I said, no problem, let’s go to the police station, and if you are right, you won’t have any problem…Off he goes to the front of the bus, never to ask me to pay again :p

And the funny part, while getting off the bus with my big box…one of its sharp corners pricked the conductors back…I swear didn’t do it on purpose but I’m damned sure, that he must have though otherwise :p He groaned as if he was hurt..So I said sorry and quickly got myself out of harm’s way :D

And as for the gift…I’ve hidden it in a printer’s box in my room…I’m still unsure about my mum’s birthday 18,19 or 20 february….got to be 1 among these 3 days.

Wasn’t that bad for a monday…hope you’ve enjoyed yours too :p

PS. Can’t show you the gift cause it’s supposed to be a surprise and I’ve already told you about it….So at least for its visual ..wait for some more days :p
