umm helloz everyone

today am going to post on a film review…well for a change nah … umm i know u can get it anywhere by just typing tara rum pum on google …..loads and load on info but u wont get a review by princess herself nah……hahaha *kidding*.. nah actually i will b going to cine to watch out this film today! yupyyyyyy!! after soo long…..i think the last film i have seen at cine is…….ummmm * rolling eyes*….. i dont remember . yeaaa!! dhoom 2 which stared my dashing actor hrithik …. i love this guy! he is tooo cuteeeeeee….. but yea i know not everyone going to agree….. so yea let me get back to TRP ( tara rum pum )

Oh yeah…I’ve just missed THE scoop for my blog…

I was out at night, mum needed some chicken to cook…And I went to purchase…Unfortunately the shop was closed earlier than usual on that day. I was quite annoyed and was walking back home when I happened to glance at the dark sky…part of it, it wasn’t that dark! It was as if enlighten by some powerful lights.

I kept looking up…and after a few seconds, I could now clearly see a white plane, it was damn big and flying at very low altitude. But this was no ordinary craft; it had as if double cockpits and also it’s tail resembled more that of a fish than of a plane! What was more surprising: I couldn’t hear any noise at all… normally such a big plane flying at such a low altitude would have deafened the population underneath. By now, I was not the only guy watching at the skies, just behind me , I had my long time neighbor, Nazeem who was also there. And on this 25th of december, many people were on the streets at night.

My neighbor who said to me: xtra-terreste!…Well that’s what many people would have thought anyway…but I seemed to know what it was: A kind of air-show organised by the NASA for the end of year…or simply a previously undisclosed US military aircraft on its way to Diego Garcia…I was quite upset, my camera was at home and by the time i go to fetch it, the plane will be gone.

But something was weirder again…The ‘bizar’ (strange) aircraft was circling above…and it was doing this so fast that we saw it as if made from elastic materials. Then it slowed down and from nowhere came a space shuttle (yeah just like the NASA shuttles). The shuttle approached the aircraft and docked on its back (I won’t say landed here…). It was a very innovative kind of landing by proxy I must say…The shuttle docks on the plane and the latter lands on a runway…That’s how it was supposed to work i think…

But no… As soon as the docking maneuver seemed complete, there was an explosion at the docking point and both vessels burnt in fireballs to the ground. I rushed home to take my camera….This time I was sure to have THE scoop. I asked mum if she wanted to come and see…But first I said, I will go and look if it was accessible for her, then I’ll call.

A small brain-teaser

While returning home this afternoon…A girl was talking to her boyfriend just behind me in the bus…Having nothing important to do and my sleep wasn’t there yet, I decided to fine tune my ear frequency to catch those sound waves from the couple

From the usual flirts…this couple was a bit different.They were already engaged and will soon be married this October…I won’t tell you the exact date though :p  Well, the girl was doing most of the talking and she will always use the word “ou” to refer to the guy…a sign of respect in Mauritius…It sounded funny but it was nice hearing though :p

What I found most interesting were the brain teasers which the girl will ask the guy for the answers :p And in parallel…I spent my time trying to solve them too :p

One of them was: What thing, upon which the sun can never shine?

And here’s another: During which month does a liar lies less? Why?

Striving in the middle of nowhere…

I really need help now…my level of concentration is dropping to its lowest ever.I’m just a few atoms away from breaking point When I wake up in the morning, I already feel tired and after 1 hour of torturous bus travel to university…you become merely a useless piece of meat which even the dogs will refuse to eat!

Now you tell me, how in the hell, will i ever be able to study? All my energy are already being depleted…Today I had acute pains with my shoulders…Then it shifted to my neck…and by the afternoon…it was already in my head Right now, it’s still in there…

I tried my usual headache solver : drinking some water…hasn’t worked, so i tried some chilled water…and it seems that the pains are more furious than ever :S

Plans for tonight: Going a bit through XML…Chatting and yeah, conducting some interviews.

Botnets explained

What is a botnet?

A botnet is simply a network of bots! And the botnets we will be refering here, are simply: Your own computers! Yes, your own home computer can be used as bots if they have internet connection!
To turn your pc into a bot, all an attacker has to do is to install a small software on your computer and this can be done through a wide variety of ways like email attachments or the most comment these days: embedding the bot software inside other software that users download from the net.

If you download all kind of software online, beware! And also, those who download cracks are the most vulnerable because you often tend to neglect antivirus warnings because you know the cracks are illegal anyway…But what you may not be knowing, these cracks may contain bonus software, the notorious bot-software

Once installed, the bot software will now be able to receive commands from its operator and executes various tasks.

Who is a bot herder ?

Just like the sheep herder looking after his animals, a bot herder is the guy who looks after his network of bots, issue commands to them. Yeah, right, a bot herder is the one who controls your computer if the latter has been turned into a bot.

What are botnets used for?

These network of bots are mainly used as a tool for extortion. I’ll explain:
using bots, someone can attack a webserver, and the latter will not be able to provide normal service. This attack will continue until the owner of the webserver doesn’t pay for the sum of money the attacker is asking for or comply to any other demand of the attacker.
This attack is refered to as a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks/tools
In brief, it consist of thousands of bots sending requests to a webserver and the latter becomes busy processing these requests. Now if a legitimate user makes a request, the webserver will not be able to respond as it is already overloaded by the bots!

A recent attack using botnet

Initial Assault
Blue Security (founded in 2004) produced an anti-spam product suite, and had over 500,000 registered users
Technology based on a provision in the CAN-SPAM act, which allows spam recipients to send an “opt-out” message.
Blue Security would, upon receiving a single spam email, send individual opt out requests from all 500,000 of its customers

Counter-Attack
In mid-May 2006, a ring of spammers lead by a Russian-based hacker known as PharmaMaster, started attacking Blue Security by renting a botnet.
Blue Security websites and blogs were DDoSed (including hostingsites)
Blue Security customers received threatening emails
The attackers indicated that unless the attacks stopped, end customers would be attacked

Conclusion:
May 17, 2006: Blue Security closed its doors
Blue Security President Eran Reshef: “ It was clear to us that [quitting] was the only way to end a full-scale cyber-war”
