So tiresome…

Posted by roushdat on May 31, 2007

I’m nearly drained out of all my energy…everyday going to jumbo…and while going, sleeping in the bus, missing the bus-stop and guess what…I ended up at Reduit instead of Jumbo Phoenix this morning :S I had to pick another bus to finally reach my destination.

The bug for free entrance has been partly patched :D But experienced by the few days I’ve been by-passing  their controls…I managed to get through ;-) There were boards blocking the back entrance, a man came to open it up just as I happened to reach there :p So I pushed myself in…the guy started asking, (ou travail la???) “you work here?” I said yes and continued my way…he followed with a comment (ou bizin pass devant mem sa!) I looked at him (not in his eyes though :p) and I said (mo bis kit moi deriere, sa em mo pass la!) “my bus leave me at the back, that’s why i enter here!”

It only some time later today thatI learnt about a mini-fight which occured in the morning, apparently minutes before my arrival involving workers and customers and organisers…and at one point in time no customers were being allowed in, followed by some people removing barriers and telling customers to enter without paying entrance fee :p

As for me, I’ve got myself a worker-pass to ensure that I get through their more and more ‘improved’ access control :p

Until then , bubye :-)

What’s the age of my kid :S

Posted by roushdat on May 30, 2007

Hello everybody :-)
Hope you all doing fine…as for me, most probably my checkmate is on its death bed…processor got fried according to my cousin. I’ll leave it with him this weekend for an autopsy and replacement of a new processor. And I think…even if the outer-body of checkmate remains…he’ll be checkmate no more. Will have to think about a new name, any ideas?

As for the special jumbo news, here we go:
I nearly missed target again today; i was sleeping in the bus…fortunately i was able to get down at shoprite, and took another bus to jumbo.

For the backdoor bug, there may have been an attempt to fixe it! But it failed miserably :D While approaching the entrance, i noticed one of the access-control guy sleeping on a chair :p So i went through as silently as possible, and i was in :p

Hey guyz,do i look like a dad??? :S While visiting the various stalls…i came across one where they were selling some body massage gadgets and also a small laptop for young children…I was having a look at it when the saleslady came to me…She asked whether i wanted to try…I said yes! And there she pulled out one of those massaging kits :S I said nooo, i wanted to check the toy laptop out, not massaging :p So she started explaining about the advanced ‘features’ of the toy. When I asked her for which range it is appropriate, she responded with the least expected: “ou zenfant ki lage ena?” (what’s the age of you kid)….My god, do i look so old???Like a married guy :S So i told her “madame, mo pencore marrier” (madam, i’m not yet married) and we both started laughing :p

There’s also a..how we say that, a letter where everybody signs…(petition) which all workers have signed in order to bring down the rental cost…for your info, a small stand cost R25000 minimum depending on its location…the better the place, the higher the cost. The sellers were quite unhappy due to the fact that there was water at some places, no adequate lighting and lots of other problems. So more news about the jumbo trade fair tomorrow, stay connected :D ki

Holidayz, my first day!

Posted by roushdat on May 29, 2007

Hello everybody…I begin this first day of my holidayz with a rather sad news; my pc, checkmate, got a heart-attack today after I reached home at about 8pm. He performed up to his max during my examination period to ensure that i don’t undergo any difficulty…but there was a cost for that, he paid with his own life :( Well well, right now he’s near-death i think…The power supply fan is spinning damn slow, same for cpu fan and it won’t boot up.

Fortunately, my x, old , was under the care of my sister.Right now, i’ve brought pcfox to my room and working on it, he’s a P3-450 guy, aged 7 years old.

So,let’s talk a bit about the future president’s day :-) Went to Uom as planned to take a letter certifying that I’m from UOM…Then I had to go to jumbo…the problem is that I had heard that curepipe buses will leave me nearer to my target. As it was raining at reduit, I jumped into the first curepip which happened to be NTC- Curepipe via Floreal :S When I told the conductor that I wish to go to jumbo, he kindly told me that this bus won’t be going there…
What do I say now :s I said it’s ok, I’ll go to shoprite :D And again, this bus won’t be going there either…But the conductor, wishing to help the future president, informed me that he will do his best to drop me nearest possible to shoprite,on the round-about. And he did so :p But of course, I had to go to Jumbo! So I took another bus, this time a UBS-curepip bus and reached Jumbo at about 11am.

Hmm…I’ll be helping my cousine there, so I’m not a customer! And I won’t pay the entrance fee of course :p

But how do i make these people controlling the access understand this? Hmm better find a bug in there security system huh ;-) and as we know, a system can never be claimed to be 100% secure! So here’s the bug:

The official entrance is at the front ;) Access is controlled! But at the back…near the bus-stop, there’s no real entrance, only a small backdoor for the workers parking there cars, loading and unloading goods ;-) No guard whatsoever…You enter from the back (parking area for workers)…no access control–>no entrance fee!

More news from Jumbo coming soon, until then, go to there, use the backdoor :p And of course, do visit me :D

And the holidays begin!

Posted by roushdat on May 28, 2007

Hellloooooooooooooooooo everybody :p Am enjoying my holidays :p

Although didn’t work great in today’s paper, 4 of my friends and I went to pizza hut caudan…

Sure, I’ve brought some pictures back ;)

We had 2 large pizzas….but while ordering we were informed by a ‘not’ so slim waitress that when ordering a large pizza, we get the second at half its cost :D …So As soon as we consumed the first 2…we placed another order for 2 more large :D …(oops, 1 min, i’m receiving a critical body-function call :S ) Check the pics in the meantime:
00002bFirst pair of pizzas
00004b First round over…waiting for the second. You see the Orangina bottle? It’s mine ;-) Had boiled water in it, brought from home cause pizza hut overcharges in drink cost, so Drink water guyz, beneficial for health  :p. In the mean time, I went to the birthday party of Aniisah which was being celebrated on pizza hut’s terrace.

Yeah…am back (body-function call serviced). Actually, I’ve overused the chili sauce while eating the pizza, and it’s now time for pay-back :S

So…my friend Aniisah’s birthday which was yesterday, but celebrated today at pizza hut itself! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Aniisah :p
00007b
Aniisah is the girl in pinky :p

After eating anii’s birthday cake, i went for my second round of pizza :D Hmm, the picture closely resembles the top, so won’t put it :p

Soooo holidayzzzzzzzz, my blog post will be daily ones again :p Keep reading ;)

Plan for tomorrow: A morning jump at the university (ohhh i miss university so much, i can’t stay away huh).

After uni, I’ll be going to jumbo…heard about the “la foire” being held there? I’ll be helping my cousin selling mobile phone and pc accessories I think. More news about it tomorrow ;)

A Jori No1 Candidate :p

Posted by roushdat on May 26, 2007

Greeeeeeetingz my dear people :) I had quite a nice Saturday, with a nicely set exam paper for Software engineering. Now let’s wait for the result :p

I was sleepy when i reached home, so i went to greet my bed for some time…and as most of the time, i paid a visit to my dream world ;-)

…and I dream about a penguin singing and dancing and he was doing it great! The amazing thing is that I watched him performing only once yesterday afternoon on mbc tv during cartoon time :p

Wanna meet my friend the penguin?

Check it out!

Doesn’t he dance better than most of the Jori No1 dancers? :p 10/10 I give :D

Readying for the Monday final jump

Posted by roushdat on May 25, 2007

Finally…the end of my nightmare is near, i can see some day-light.

Tomorrow I’ll be sitting for the software engineering module and on monday, the finals :- System Software…and i’ll be able to enjoy my long-deserved holidays.I find it quite tough, not because it is tough, but rather because I didn’t like it from the very beginning itself. I don’t know if it would have been better to do that system software paper before the others, but i surely do know that things can’t be changed now.

Approximately 1.5 days to cover about 25 weeks of lecture for System Software…Is that possible? I don’t know the answer right now, but surely i’ll know on monday afternoon ;) pass…fail…pass…fail…pass…fail…pass…fail…pass…fail…pass…fail…pass…fail…pass…fail…pass…fail…pass!

I don’t watch soccer!

Posted by roushdat on May 24, 2007

Yep, it’s high time to say it loud and clear: I DON’T WATCH SOCCER (MO PAS GUETE FOOTBALL MOI!)

Before i get flamed by football fans, let me also inform you than i don’t have anything against that sport :p You like it? fine…but i don’t.

This morning , i was so stressed up for today’s exam paper: Programming Languages and algorithms…On the bus stop, I took out a small sheet of paper on which I had written some important points to remember…and I start going through them…There came that man…with his mustache…he greeted me and I forced a crisp smile just to avoid giving him the impression that i have a grudge against him :p

My mind was fully focused on my algorithms when that man, who happens to be a great fan of soccer, shot at me with the words: “Match la comien ine aller?” (what was the score for the match?)

I briefly looked at him…and replied that I didn’t watch thinking that he won’t go any further with that discussion. My lord…he charged at me again just the moment i had immersed into my algorithmic world… “mwa si mo pane ressi get sa hier” (me too hadn’t been able to watch it yesterday)

Huuh, where’s my problem in that? You didn’t watch….OOOKKK let me revise damn it! I politely replied with a : “haha”

And he shot again:” pas coner comien ine aller la hein…AC milan la 1 bon lekip sa, zot cone zouer…”( AC Milan is a good team, they know how to play) and he continued on and on…asking me from where is AC Milan? Then he replied himself…milan…italy…and he landed up with brasil having home-bred players, france also doing same…but England just buy players, they will buy mauritian also if we have gud players blablablablabalbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

My god, I had an exam and that stupid guy filled me up with football data :S Unfortunately I didn’t have any soccer-related questions, else I would have done wonders!

So please, everybody, don’t talk about soccer with me, I don’t like :p

Students’ feedback

Posted by roushdat on May 21, 2007

Hellooooo dear people :p Been quite some time you didn’t hear from me right? (uh…ok it was only 2-3 days  maybe)

These days university students, including the future president (who also go through the exams just like everybody mind you!), are quite busy with revision…or for some, it’s the first vision :p cause they’ve never done it before…it’s now that they are learning :D

Personally, I consider those guyz as genius :p you imagine, something that you have been given months to learn, you grasp it in a few hours, completely on your own, without the guidance of lecturers ? I already talked about the learning curve (straight-line) of some students…so today, the focus is on you!

YOU STUDENTS, DO YOU THINK YOU MADE THE RIGHT DECISION IN CHOOSING THE COURSE YOU ARE FOLLOWING RIGHT NOW?

Tell us more, what were the factors that influenced your choice? What are the surprises (good & bad) you’ve encountered so far in your course?

If you had the chance to change something in the past concerning you studies, course etc, what would that have been?

Feel free guyz, let the words flow!

When the future president dreams about dragons :S

Posted by roushdat on May 18, 2007

Greetingz dear people :-) Well well….I was sleeping this afternoon after watching cartoons of course :D and I dreamt about dragons :S I was in the same team as the lead hero…the dragon booster :p But the latter was no where to be seen…uhh I guess i had taken his place :p

So…naturally there were many bad guyz wishing to free this planet from me as i was the hero huh ;)   But one strange thing though…instead of the usual operating pattern of the dragon-booster consisting mainly of defensive manoeuvres, I lead my team to attack the baddies before they could even come after us :p

We we planned ambushes and effectively engaged in dragon-mounted fights. With the blessings of the surprise effects being on ours side, we inflicted upon the enemy terrible and unrecoverable damages. And soon the supremacy of our team reigned on planet earth :p

Hmm…strange though…I don’t remember dreaming about cartoons before…the first time :p But it was nice to be a cartoon character, a hero! ;)

Can eyes be transplanted???

Posted by roushdat on May 17, 2007

When I reached home today from university, my mum was doing some knitting and also watching tv. It was about 14:45…15mins to go for my cartoons to start :D

So I sat with mum, and checked out what she was watching; a quite old movie:Daasi (I got the name from mbc’s website). It was nearly ending, all i saw was an old-fashioned guy ( the actor) talking to 2 nice ladies (the actresses:old-fashioned tooo:D). Mum explained that the guy was blind, and the poor chap had just received eye transplants and could now see his wife for the first time. The problem for him is: he couldn’t recognize her…(i wonder why…he could hear the voice huh?)

Anyways, that’s none of our business…let him alone. But what somehow disturbed me: Are complete eye transplants possible? Can we make a blind see again by just getting a pair of eyes from some people dying out there?eyetransplant.jpg

I know for the heart, we can do it…for brain…we can’t yet. But for the eyes, in several movies, specially the hindustani ones, we see this. And we see it so often , that we have accepted it as words of gospel.

C’mon I can’t just accept what is on the movies as real huh? So i did a quick search on my partner site google, and here it is: Read the rest of this entry »
