Reload…fire!!!

Posted by roushdat on February 9, 2008

No no, am not going to talk about some action movies or firing a weapon :p…It’s just about reloading a web page ;)

Oh btw, goooood morning!

Nowadays, web 2.0 adepts’ websites include ajax ( Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) which is a combination of technologies I’ve just mentioned (but itself, it is not a new technology, it’s a combination!). So with the use of ajax, long gone the era of clicking submit buttons on forms and waiting a new page to load or the current page to reload completely;your results appear on a predefined location on the current page itself and without the whole stuff reloading :p And thats not all, if you are on a page that consists of news titles, you don’t have the need to reload the page from time to time to check for new titles being added, the new titles will just appear on its own!

But unfortunately, not all websites have adopted ajax yet, and you still have to reload a page every now and then to check for updates. For these cases, I have got a simple plugin for Mozilla firefox.

It’s called: Reload Every. Once installed, all you have to do, is to right-click on a page you want to make it reload automatically in a specified time interval and that’s it!

Get it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/115

Until then, have a nice weekend ;)
