Privacy & Technology : co-existence possible?

Posted by roushdat on March 29, 2008

Can someone have a private life today? I doubt it. Will it be possible in the future? No…Do we need privacy? depends on your way of life… i personally don’t need; do you?

As new technologies come into play…i think we can say bye to our privacy.

Curious as i am…i feel it will be nice to know more about others :p

More mistakes in religious festivals’ date?

Posted by roushdat on March 18, 2008

Pandit Mahesh Shastri, who was kind enough to share his knowledge about the Mahashivratree celebration date in mauritius, claims that it is now that the real date miscalculations will pop in.
Here’s what he says:

Pandit Mahesh Shastri Says:
March 18, 2008 at 10:47 am eNow that is bad. He shouldn’t be doing that. I have some questions about how that organization works though…

Soneone was kind enough to mail me list of festivals annouced by sanatan dharma society. I do find some errors in some festivals: Here they are:

2008 Mauritius public calendar

7 Apr Ougadi. Wrong…. rediculous This date should be April 6th, Chaitra padyami doesn’t prevail at the sunrise of mauritius on 7th (Some parts of india like bombay, and delhi will celebrate on 6th April, Where as Tamilnadu, orrisa, bengal, Bihar will celebrate on 7th Apr).

14 April Ram Navami Ramanavami should be April 13th as per shaivite principle or smartha principle, April 14th as per true vaishnavite principle.

15 August Krishna Janmashtami Wrong…. rediculous This should be 23rd August 2008 (This falls on August 24th for India, 23rd for Mauritius)

4 Sep Ganesh Chathurthi. WRONG rediculous. This should be September 3rd in Mauritius (Even India Doesn’t celebrate on 4th September)

I would really like to know their reasoning about adjusting their festivals. When they can celebrate Mahashivaratri on right date why not other fesivals?

elooooooooo :p

Posted by roushdat on March 14, 2008

Just to let everybody know that am still alive, so is my blog ;) Now being over-overloaded with the writing of my project report and tests have been scheduled for the last week of march. As for the project report, deadline for submission is 14th april 2008 (may God help us all meet that deadline)

And one big advice to all those doing final year project:

Backup Everything about your project, daily…(even hourly if u are the paranoid type :p) And dont backup on ur pc itself, put on pendrive, send to ur mailbox, burn cds, dvds…I prefer the last two, so that in case a virus starts an invasion, its effect will be greatly attenuated.

ok, i got to resume with the report now, c u all ;)

Songs with a meaning…meaningless…discriminatory meaning!

Posted by roushdat on March 1, 2008

Woke up this morning, the future president was tired as hell after having spent the night dreaming about an escape through a dense forest, full of “goyaves de chine”, from some soldiers armed with guns. But I had to time to eat loads of those red fruits while being on the run and i also remember to have told myself that i’m having loads of vitamin C these days (really i am :p) … I wonder who may be after me like that, even during my sleep :(

Anyways, hellooooooooooooo everybody! I was thinking what I could put on the blog today when a song track pulled itself up on my playlist. Well I really enjoy that song but the weird thing is that i dont understand a single word in it!

I have quite a few of those kind of songs, in russian, arabic, farsi, polish and the list goes on…Although i try hard to find their lyrics’ translations…most of the time I dont get them and my job becomes much harder when I don’t even know the songs’ titles.

Most of the time, the songs are in other languages for a good reason: These songs are dedicated to a local population in their local language :p (just like our ’sega’)

But then, some people find using songs with parts of different foreign languages nice… These days we find this quite a lot in movies from India. They used have songs in hindi, then a mixture of english. But when most of them started to understand english, they are now adding arabic words. And that’s not all, they are now using farsi as well (Bore Bore from bluffmaster is in farsi, by Arash).

And I’m among those who enjoy songs which I dont know the meaning…and that’s DANGEROUS!  At times the meaning are so contradictory to your own values…and some songs are satanical in nature, others promote drugs and according to some people, hidden messages that your conscious mind cannot understand, you subconscious can! And when it does, then you are in danger…

Use of another language is not the only way of hidding the meaning, Mackmasking is another one. It involves the recording of a sound backwards.

You can read more about these on wikipedia:  Sublimal Message

until then, have a nice weekend ;) And to all those going to Grand Bassin, “bon courage!” and have a safe walk.
