Poverty, is it really about money?

Got a mail today; was about the Blog Action Day whereby a day is chosen and bloggers across the world publish posts about a particular topic. And for this year, it’s poverty.

Anyway, while waiting for that day (15th of October 2008), i started thinking a bit about my own perception of poverty. The first thing that comes to my mind: Poverty== No Money
And I am pretty sure, many among you thinks alike. That is, if you have loads of money, you are rich! On the contrary, having no or little money, implies poverty. But this simple logic leads us to the very debatable issue about “money is everything”, which personally I disagree. But if i disagree with this, then how come I think that poverty is an outcome resulting from the lack of money? Most probably i am proving myself wrong!
I feel that we should try look at poverty in a different way. Educate the new generations about the real richness and poverty of this world. Having no money does not mean you are poor and samewise , loads of it does not make you a rich man.
Rich are those who can understand others, are able to help others and who know the secrets of living a happy life. The poorest are the selfish ones from among us and the illiterates. By illiterates, by no means do i refer to those having no education but rather those people who are educated but do not know how to make good use of it. There are people out there who never have been on a school bench, but yet, these same people are far better human beings than some degree holders. And we dare refer to them as poor? They may be wearing no clothing and we think this is because they are poor…but perhaps, perhaps this is because their hearts are pure, they have nothing to hide unlike us, who wear suits to hide our selfishness.

Guete bien, sa mem ine arriver dans moris pou most of us…, nou parents so parents so parents so parents ine start sa process la…
Donc… kouma mone dire… parents la pa bisin pense like “initil mo fer zeffort, mo pa pou gagne nanien”… instead bisin pense like “mo bisin fer zeffort, demain mo zenfants pou vivre ene meilleur la vie ki moi”… ek be realistic… ene fami ki vraiment in needs, mo dire li cri cri, pa bisin fer 4-5 zenfants… mo pa croire enkor ena compensation pou sa de nos jours {like ti ena letemps mangoze}…
Dimounes ki pauvre, reste pauvre akoz zot pa p fer ene fer foute pou sorti dans zot bezer… c tout. Pray [LOL] or whatever won’t change anything… C par zot propre volonté ki zot pou progresser… Ni gouvernement, ni ONG pou vine tire zot dans zot situation… At most, zot pou soulage zot for a small period of time… Pa expect bisin expect plis ki sa…
Ek mo bien koner ki mo dire… dans mo fami mem ena lexemple…

My views of being poor??
1. Poor are those people who although having lots of money but still have and selfish and hypocrite mind. Those people who have lots of money but everyday their main job is to fu** their a*s at home and gossip about their neighbour or relatives who is going to work to earn a living.
2. Poor are those people who althought they have lots of money but they lack taste! Those people who would just buy everything to just show off to ther world without even knowing why they bought this thing!
3. Poor are those people who don’t have money but would rather sit at home and keep complaining and wait for the governement to give them a money grant!!
4. Poor are those sh*ts that keep critising that they don’t get a place in the goverment jobs because of their religion! If they would only have a rich mind…then they would have gone to school…study and get the job! And not wait to expect that some “Mon Pere” will fight their case to get them a job in the government because they feel rejected!
5. Poor are those who even have money but dnt have something more important than money that is: Love and Health! Whats the use of being filthy rich but don;t even have someone who really love you as u are….and not only love your money! Whats the use of being rich but no health!!!
6. Poor are those people who just inherit their dads money and fortune and they don’t even do something about it to make the best out of it! They just sit and enjoy till the wealth is gone….and say i am rich…I wonder why they don’t say “My Father Got Me Rich!”

There are some people who would pray to Mr God to leave out their poverty! I just think it is a result of one of our most fu**ingly stupid side of our cultures!!
Praying to god will not make you rich! If you wanna get rich so work for it…and don’t just critisize other people who are working for it or who have worked for it.
