Are men and women equal?

Scale of justice
We have often heard women shouting for equality. Unfortunately many misunderstand or confuse equality with justice. While women and men are not the same physically and mentally that in no way means one should have his/her rights restrained.
For those who believe women and men are equals, consider:
- Can a man give birth to a baby and breastfeed him (naturally) ?
- Why most reputable scholars are men ?
- Is it not a fact that in general men are stronger physically and women are more emotional ?
Men and Women complement each other and as a result should enjoy what is due to them. Instead of fighting of equal rights on everything, there are several aspects that require justice rather than blindly applying equality.
And of course there are some who are homosexuals: These are simply considered the abnormal of the society by most people and of course…they should have justice that they deserve as well, definitely not equal rights.
And no…men and women are obviously not equal…except for those who do not understand the meaning of “equal” !

But what about those who fight about the “discrimination sexuel” and “equal opportunity”.
As far as I remember, they fight so that women have equal rights as men and they are not penalized in any way since they are women.
Are they fighting for women to be fair or equal?

Very true… Many a times i feel a sense of disgust towards woman who shouts out that “woman == man” and i feel those creature are sooo dumb that they can’t understand that being equal in terms of rights and respects DOESN’T MEAN THEY NEED TO BECOME GUYS!
The first argument many chicks will reply “ena tifi ki travay masson, ena ki travay controlerr”….
but from what i can see… these are just immature reasoning, so what if she is working as a construction worker or a conductor So WHAT???
If you follow the assumption that “all humans are equal in terms of respects”, then we shall not have to POINT OUT that she is working a guy’s job! Its something remarkable for a woman!
pffft, sincerely that’s a childish reasoning. Its as if women somewhat feel inferiors or suffers from such a huge lack of confidence that they need to point it out when someone of simmillar sex did something exceptional… and they call guys macho after that!
Infact… i believe females started this whole “equal opportunity” thing just to get more attention. Fair enough, women deserve their place in society and the respects of all.
But sincerely, are a few immature woman out their which acts like bitches when you start talking about equality.
Another thing… when i hear about equal opportunity or woman and child protection on newspapers nowadays… this famous quote form george orwell comes to my mind a lot of time…
“All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”
Sincerely.. its not fair towards man that woman has to have her own “women protection center”, “Woman development center”, protection order against husband (yes their are dumbasses or husbands who beats woman… but there are also bitches who beats and cuck their hubbies.. what about those???). Secondly, what is this law that a man should offer “pension alimentaire” to divorced wife and kid ??? whoever keeps the child pays the pension, why this discrimination???
pffft, that’s why i believe women have no idea what equality means…

I do concur with your comments but I would like to add that some women, in some countries, get their rights taken away. There are 2 types of rights: inalienable and legal. So I guess what I’m trying to say is one has to be specific when one is trying to put down women OR men. I’m not a misandrist but I understand women’s bitterness and I’m also aware of how some of them go OTT.

…Totally agree with u on the fact that instead of fighting for equal rights guess men and women should learn about how “to complement each other and as a result should enjoy what is due to them” simply because men and women were NOT made the same (atleast physically!)
However, discrimations do exist and that is considered quite unfair especially at work. (Especially in IT field) One of my friend who is responsible for the recruitment of software engineers told me that he would prefer to recruit a guy rather than a girl coz with a guy, he would get less problems!!???? Now is this fair?
Well of course, it is not the case for every men. (or is it?) just because men are physically stronger doesnt mean that their intellectual capacity is higher than women!

I agree some of what u said..it’s true that men and women are born/created different..so there are something that we can’t do and cant require to be equal.
what about other things that has nothing to do with the physical differences? what’s wrong with them to fight for the right of voting?? they are not citizens??? U dont rule them??
N now it’s very interesting that u could find a word”girlish”,which is certainly negative to describe guys…hahaha.. it indicates that some men doesnt behave like men at all ,sometimes they are not as good as a woman can behave…

I totally agree with u that women are complementary to . Since women have been given the access to education, women hv shown that they could shine as bright as men. Of course IQ and EQ(emotional Quotient) is more over the same for men and women. Some men had got high IQ while some dont. Some women too hv got high IQ while some women hv got low IQ. Similar cases in for EQ. Some women are extremly strong at heart while some men can b weak. Exactly same case with phisical ability there are some women who do beat up their hubby bkoz they hv strong character and phycially stronger than their partner.
Yes a man cant get pregnant, cant bear all the health probs during a pregnancy, can’t give birth, can’t breastfeed a baby. In general the women lives longer than the men, this is bkoz of their high EQ. They dont like to take risks to show bravado, they love life, they hv a gud intution in life.
Since their are more women than men, the goverment is giving more incentive to women to shine in bkoz of their higher population. The gouverment came up with the WIP( women in Politics) and WIN(women in network) schemes. This is bkoz the women constitute a considerable number in a country. The existing population of men are lower, most of them by 45 yrs old are already drunkard facing health problems and causing a high rate of absentism at work, at 50yrs old smokers starts to hv 1st sighs of cancer, many men 2day are more illerate then women, more lazy- not taking responsilibities of the house, too busy running after easy money, not to mention that many has turned into gays by getting influence by porn and internatinal medias.
Women is the Atlas upon whose shoulder the world lies. Women need not fight man but work hands in hands. Feminists are causing great incomprehension towards men and are wrongly influencing women whose got a genuine problems with men in their lives.
My guardian angel is a male, most caring, most sensible and i love him very much. Men shud keep their dignity and not fall into shame and lowliness…

Men have always known that women’s definition of equality has always and only meant that women are equally deserving of all the good things men get without having to beg for them. To women, the word equality has NEVER EVER meant being physically identical with men. That is psychotic reasoning on men’s part. The men who have so abused and twisted the phrase “equality” to mean that women think they are physically identical to men are walking on the thin edge between outright lies and psychosis. By men’s own definition, if men are equal to men in the way men define it, they should all be the same height, for example, and be extended rights to men on account of who is taller. Men KNOW that women’s definition of equality refers ONLY to being given the same opportunities. But men pretend to misunderstand women’s correct definition of it, to thwart and block them.
Men KNOW that when women ask for equality, they ask for the same opportunities for the fullest life possible, which women have to fight tooth and nail for and which men automatically get.
Men twist and reframe the term and throw it back at sincere and understandable women to dishearten them and make it clear that women are “so difficult to understand”, that they should just finally shut up for good or forever resign themselves to explain and explain and explain what men already know but will never admit. And then the men will tell women they are talking too much.

Is asking for X amount of seats to be ‘reserved’ for women in the national assembly something which has to do with “equality”?

When women ask for equality, they are not asking men to acknowledge them as men. They are asking to be valued as humans to the same extent that men are. They want equal opportunity in education, work, and everything else in life. They aren’t asking to be men, as you imply here. The reason there aren’t as many women CEOs right now, is because society doesn’t allow it. Women are expected to lead two lives if they enter the workplace, and do twice as much work as their husbands. For example, a woman that works the same job as her husband will still be expected to go home, clean, make dinner, put the kids to bed and so forth. This, of course, discourages many women to enter jobs that require more time away from home. Secondly, society hasn’t changed enough to accept women into as high standing places as men. Pay isn’t as good for a woman working the same position as a man, even if she’s doing just as good of a job. This kind of inequality is what women want to fix. And by the way, feminists are not women trying to over-throw men with problems in their lives. The technical definition of a feminist is someone who believes women and men are equally capable of anything and that each should be awarded equal opportunity. Of course, this term isn’t refering to biological capabilities as you are seemingly implying here. It’s refering to the belief that women and men should have equal responsibility and opportunity in both the workplace and the home rather than that one is equal to the other in that one has a penis and the other a vagina. That difference is for other reasons and neither body part should be of greater value than the other. God could have made reproduction for us in so many ways, but He chose to create two different bodies so we could experience sexual union. Personally, I believe He values our souls just as much from one to the other no matter race or sex. Women striving for equality aren’t asking to be regarded as men. They are asking to be regarded with the same value as all other human beings, given the same opportunity as all other human beings. Throughout time we have tried to deny rights to certain ethnic groups, or gender for different reasons and every time, this has been, in the end, regarded as wrong. Just to point out a few- The American Civil Rights Movement, the fight for equality in South Africa, The Holocaust, and much more throughout time. Every time, it was one group trying to escape the unfair power hold of another group. How can anyone say the Feminist Movement is any different. It’s only another group trying to get what they rightfully deserve. Any who believe women asking for equality are “immature” or are doing this “just to get more attention” clearly do not understand what it feels like to be treated as unequal or have little understanding of what women are actually aiming for through this movement towards EQUAL VALUE AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY.

I don’t understand this reserved seat business. I’ve never seen seats in a movie theatre or opera house marked off: Women Only. Actually, it’s usually the other way around. Such as the Tehran stadium in Iran allowing only men to enter.
